Why Brow Tattoos Turn Blue or Red
- The change usually comes from the pigment used, how the colors were mixed, the needle technique, aftercare, and how the skin healed. Some brows change after a few years; others within a few months.
- It is rarely just one cause. If nobody has looked at the pigment, the technique, and the aftercare, most of the possible causes have not been checked.

Correcting Blue or Red Tones with Pigment
When the old color is light enough, it can often be corrected with pigment before the new brows are done. This only works on a light base; dark or layered pigment needs laser first.
- Red or orange brows: a corrective pigment with an olive or moss-green base brings the color back toward neutral, then the new brows are done in a natural brown-black tone.
- Blue or gray brows: a corrective pigment with a warm brown base is used, and a lighter blue tone may only need a warm yellow corrector. The new brows are then done in a natural brown.
Why Luxie Does Not Use Removal Solution
- Removal solution is often sold as a gentler option than laser. In practice it still needs a needle in the tattooed skin, which means another round of tattooing over the old brows.
- Luxie does not use it. Each session lifts out very little pigment and only reaches the shallow part, so treatment drags on while the base is still not clean. The deeper pigment, which decides whether the brows can be cleared, stays where it is.
- When an old base needs lightening, Luxie uses laser.
Laser for Dark or Layered Old Brows
Laser lightens old brow pigment so the old shape fades, which makes it easier to design a new shape and add new color. Luxie assesses the base and aims to finish in 1 to 2 sessions where possible; very dark, thick, or often touched-up brows can take 3 to 4.

Possibly, but not every blue base is ready for hairstrokes right away. If the blue is still dark, thick, or patchy, new strokes may not show clearly and the brows can still look dark overall. Luxie checks the base first to see whether it needs laser before hairstroke brows.
2. Do red brows always need laser?
